My Journey

In a Nutshell

Hello, and welcome to Daniel's Cookware & Blog!

Creating a recipe website was an idea my wife Cathie had back in the 90's, but because of unfortunate circumstances, it never came to light for her. Cathie was a chef that graduated from "Le cordon bleu" in Chicago and she loved to cook, she also loved stock piling pots and pans. Her saying was, "The more pots and pans you have, the more creative you can be." And trust me, she used them all. To this day I still use what's left of the cookware. Cathie would always cook up a storm and wasn't scared to try new recipes. Our son and I loved being the "Taste testers."

Besides my mom, Cathie taught me a lot about cooking, and now I love cooking. The aroma of fresh produce and spices gets me motivated to create fabulous dishes for my family and I.

Don’t get me wrong they don’t all come out fabulous, and I’m no professional chef by any means, but I keep trying. And yes I’ve thought of going to culinary school, but it doesn't seem to be in the cards.

So, I got to thinking one day, why not try creating a site that brings creativity and passion to one spot. I know there are a lot of websites that offer cookware and recipes, but I wanted a site that would be inviting to chefs of all levels.

I know these days everyone is busy including myself, and finding time to do certain things is difficult. That's why I took Cathie's idea to make a site that people can visit for quick easy recipes and get back to cooking, and have time for the family.

One thing I've realized is that the cooking community is a very tight niche, and I like that, and I want to be part of that type of community. I love that feeling of friendship, and togetherness. I want to be part of that cooking community.

Thank you.
